I’ve got tools! WOO HOO! Almost all of the tools arrived today. First off, I have to say, Cleaveland Aircraft Tool is awesome! They’re a small company and you can tell. The level of customer service I received from Annette was impeccable. She always super quick to answer my dozen or so follow up emails. Hats off, they earned my business in the future.
I bought their RV-10 entire kit based on the RV-10. Based on what I’ve read on VansAirForce.net, I upgraded to the pneumatic squeezer and DRDT2 dimpling tool. At a little over $3000 after the upgrades, it definitely wasn’t the cheapest kit out there, but I figure having good tools is well worth the extra money.
That’s what I got so far – ignore the horizontal stabilizer spar :-). There’s a few items that aren’t there – the DRDT2 is drop shipped from the manufacturer and will be here soon, a the 3/32 clecos and a couple of twist drills are on back order, and two parts were missing when I did inventory. As far as the missing parts, I emailed Annette and received a response in under an hour with a tracking number and letting me know that today’s UPS pickup hadn’t gone out yet so it would be out same day. See what I mean about great customer service?
Any who… I can get started building now! Unfortunately the 3/32 clecos are needed in the first couple steps, so not sure how far I’m going to get.
